Optimal support location is in Greensboro, NC. Remote support will be considered based on candidates’ experience and qualifications. To support this challenge, Syngenta's Product Safety Team is seeking a Senior Dietary Residue Scientist. This role will provide expertise in dietary residue science for developing new agricultural technology and maintaining existing products. The position holder will support critical project decisions and use the best scientific approaches to enable Business and Regulatory success in North America and globally. Accountabilities: Design, implement and lead the dietary residue strategy for the development and registration of new active ingredients/products and maintenance of registered active ingredients/products within North America. Collaborate with the Study Monitor and Analytical Teams to drive the deliverables and design for residue studies. Contextualize results by utilizing metabolism and dietary residue data to inform and guide regulatory and commercial strategy. Create and implement strategies to address emerging issues and opportunities in North America to support new active ingredient registration, and continued approval of registered active ingredients Interface and advocate the dietary science strategy to regional/global Product Safety partners, Regulatory, Stewardship and Business partners, as well as external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities. Qualifications Required: A Ph.D or M. Sc degree, preferably in agronomy, horticulture, entomology, pathology, weed science, ecotoxicology, soil science, toxicology, environmental sciences, and/or other relevant disciplines; applicants with commensurate industrial, academic or governmental experience will be considered A minimum of 4 years of experience in residue science, agricultural chemical product development and/or similar field. Desired: Experience with application of dietary residue knowledge for product development. Familiar with agriculture and use of agrochemicals Excellence in data analysis and interpretation. Knowledge of GLP requirements. Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in North America and globally. Proven track record in supporting regulatory submissions. Strong critical thinking and problem solving Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
