Are you ready to be part of the world's largest humanitarian network? Join us—Where your Career is a Force for Good! Job Description: Joining The American Red Cross is like nothing else—it’s as much something you feel as something you do. You become a vital part of the world's largest humanitarian network, joining a team of welcoming individuals who are exceptional, yet unassuming; diverse, yet uncompromising in unity. You grow your career within a movement that matters, where success is measured in people helped, communities made whole, and individuals equipped to never stop changing lives and situations for the better.

When you choose to be a force for good, you'll have mentors who empower your growth along a purposeful career path. You align your life's work with an ongoing mission that's bigger than all of us. As you care for others, you're cared for with competitive compensation and benefits. You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work.

The role is fully remote. East Coast candidates preferred.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The American Red Cross is seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and exceptionally organized Sr. Manager, Digital Content Strategy & Operations to lead digital content strategy, experience optimization, and operations across key Biomedical Services digital properties, including RedCrossBlood.org and the Blood Donor App.

This is a high-impact role for a leader who can move comfortably between strategy and execution—someone who can take complex, ambiguous initiatives, synthesize information, create clarity and structure, and drive the details through completion.

A significant initial focus will be serving as the content strategy and project management lead for a major organizational website redesign and re-platform. The role will help guide the organization through content strategy, information architecture, content migration, localization/multilingual requirements, stakeholder alignment, implementation, quality assurance, launch, and post-launch optimization. This individual will work across departments and lines of service to help create a transformational digital experience.

At the same time, this leader will own the day-to-day digital content operating model for RedCrossBlood.org, the Blood Donor App, and other digital properties. They will serve as the central project manager and content strategist for digital requests, translating business objectives into compelling digital experiences and coordinating cross-functional teams through discovery, UX, content, design, SEO, accessibility, implementation, QA, and launch.

The ideal candidate is hungry for impact, highly accountable, intellectually curious, and energized by complexity. They can see the big picture while relentlessly managing the details. They know how to ask the right questions, bring structure to ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and keep work moving. They are equally comfortable developing a strategy, facilitating a working session, building a project plan, reviewing a wireframe, editing content, analyzing performance data, and working in a CMS to ensure the work is implemented correctly.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Digital Marketing.

Key Responsibilities: Digital Transformation, Project & Program Management

Serve as the primary content strategy and project management lead for the organizational website redesign and re-platform, with an initial focus on RedCrossBlood.org and related content.

Partner with UX, design, technology, SEO, analytics, marketing, product, engagement, and business stakeholders to ensure content and experience decisions are integrated.

Drive content strategy through the creation and review of content briefs, ensuring content meets brand and digital best practices, identifying components, and how we can transform today’s content into tomorrow’s experience.

Support multilingual and Spanish-language content requirements in partnership with translation partners, ensuring translated content maintains the intended user experience, accuracy, and conversion objectives.

Digital Content Strategy & Operations

Own the end-to-end content process across RedCrossBlood.org, the Blood Donor App, and other digital properties from discovery and requirements through content development, design, implementation, QA, launch, and ongoing optimization.

Lead promotional content across web and app, including homepage experiences, campaign placements, in-app promotions, badges, feature announcements, terms and conditions, and other high-priority content.

Partner with UX and design teams to develop user journeys, wireframes, page structures, component requirements, and experiences that make it easy for users to find information and take action.

Ensure content is structured and optimized for modern search experiences, including SEO and emerging answer-engine/AI search optimization (AEO).

Identify opportunities to connect web and app capabilities, including deep linking, journey optimization, personalization, and other enhancements that create a more connected digital experience.

Write, edit, or direct content development as needed, ensuring content is compelling, concise, user-centered, on-brand, and designed to drive action.

Serve as a hands-on digital content leader who can establish the strategy and ensure execution meets a high standard.

Data, Analytics & Continuous Optimization

Establish and monitor KPIs for digital content and experiences in partnership with marketing, analytics, engagement, and business teams.

Translate data and analytics into clear insights, recommendations, and prioritized actions.

Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and recurring performance reporting that provide actionable visibility into digital performance.
