Job Description

This role is part of our Central Platform Engineering Team at saas.group.

What is saas.group? Think of us as the driving catalyst behind your favorite software success stories. saas.group, established in 2017, is on a mission to turbocharge promising B2B SaaS ventures, unlocking their full potential.

As a Software-as-a-Service portfolio powerhouse, we specialize in acquiring small software treasures and polishing them into industry stars.

With a dynamic, fully remote team of nearly 350+ colleagues spanning 50+ countries we are truly global and we are rewriting the playbook on SaaS innovation and collaboration.

We grow 23 exciting brands under our umbrella.

Feel free to explore our Candidate's Hub to get an insider's view, dive into our culture, gain valuable insights into our teams and how we work.

Also, don’t forget to follow saas.group on LinkedIn to stay up-to-date on our job openings, podcast episodes, and with all things happening at our company.

Profile Overview Our Platform Engineering team runs central infrastructure services and partners with brands to modernize their stacks.

The mission: provide a “paved road” of opinionated best practices (observability, backups, CI/CD, infra as code) that brands can adopt quickly, and support hands-on migrations when needed.

You’ll own outcomes for a set of brands: assess where they are, recommend what “good” looks like, and implement the plan.

The role blends architecture, enablement, and practical engineering.

It’s senior and autonomous: you’ll advise and sometimes convince stakeholders, then deliver.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be

Complete central onboarding by pairing with a team member for ~2 weeks to learn our patterns and tooling, then start managing the brands assigned to you.

Lead the onboarding of at least one brand to our “paved road” standards (GitHub org, CI/CD, monitoring/observability, IaC), with positive feedback from brand leadership and our team.

Deliver one or more migrations/refactors (e.g., CI/CD, infra modernization, cost/availability improvements) and document decisions so others can build on them.

Your responsibilities Lead infrastructure projects for assigned brands: migrations, performance & reliability improvements, incident response practices, containerization, and cloud cost optimizations.

Establish/upgrade CI/CD, infra as code, monitoring, alerting, and SLO-aligned dashboards; baseline and improve reliability with data.

Advise brand CTOs/engineering leads on trade-offs and architecture; justify decisions with clear reasoning and measurable outcomes.

Contribute to and consume central services (e.g., observability, backups) so brands don’t reinvent the wheel.

Collaborate with developers as part of the product team during engagements; troubleshoot across app and infra boundaries.

Bring AI into the paved road itself: use tools like Claude Code or Codex daily to speed up IaC, scripting, and incident diagnosis, and help brand teams pick up the same habits in their own workflows.

Participate in an on-call rotation (lightweight today; scaling toward a fair, shared model).

What You bring to the table 5+ years of experience in Platform or Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, operating at a senior level with strong ownership and autonomy.

Deep expertise in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (ideally Terraform).

Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices; able to assess, design, and modernize pipelines across diverse brand environments.

Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, or similar) and sound judgment on what “good” looks like.

Hands-on, daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) in real infra work, not just curiosity about them; comfortable coaching brand teams on how to use them well.

A background in software development or the ability to read and debug application code.

Excellent communication and consulting skills; confident in advising and influencing technical stakeholders while adapting to different teams and tech stacks.
