About the Role We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering & Facilities to define and scale the engineering systems, infrastructure, and technical capabilities that power our compounding and pharmacy fulfillment network.

This leader will own the design and evolution of our end-to-end engineering ecosystem, spanning facility design, cleanrooms, utilities, automation, manufacturing systems, and material flow from compounding through dispensing, packaging, and delivery.

You will serve as the senior-most engineering partner to Pharmacy, Operations, and Quality leadership.

The role requires strong engineering judgment, executive leadership, and enough experience in GMP- and USP-regulated environments to translate quality requirements into practical facility and system designs.

This role is critical to enabling the next phase of our manufacturing and fulfillment expansion, including new facility builds, cleanroom environments, production lines, utility systems, equipment installations, and automation investments.

Success requires quickly building credibility across functions, establishing rigor in capital planning and technical decision-making, and ensuring internal teams, contractors, architects, and engineering partners deliver compliant, scalable solutions.

This leader will partner closely with senior leaders across Compounding Operations, Pharmacy Operations, R&D, Global Quality, Supply Chain, and Finance, and will lead a multi-disciplinary organization that may include Industrial Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Device Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and related technical teams.

This is both a strategic and hands-on leadership role: setting direction, building the function, developing leaders, and ensuring disciplined execution across a rapidly growing network.

What You’ll Do Engineering Strategy & System Design Define and lead the enterprise engineering strategy across compounding, pharmacy, and fulfillment operations.

Establish engineering standards and scalable operating models that can be replicated across sites.

Architect end-to-end workflows and technical systems connecting production, dispensing, packaging, storage, and delivery.

Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, facilities, automation, manufacturing, and industrial engineering disciplines.

Facilities, Utilities, Capital & Network Expansion Lead the design, expansion, commissioning, and ongoing support of regulated manufacturing and pharmacy facilities, including cleanrooms and controlled environments.

Ensure facility designs appropriately address personnel flow, material flow, airflow, HVAC, electrical systems, process utilities, equipment placement, maintainability, and future capacity.

Own and optimize large-scale capital investment planning, including facility builds, automation, equipment, utilities, and infrastructure programs of $100M or more.

Provide technical oversight of architects, engineering firms, contractors, equipment vendors, and external subject-matter experts; ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and monitor performance against technical and regulatory expectations.

Establish clear governance, reporting, risk management, and execution rigor for capital projects.

Compliance & Quality Integration Partner closely with Quality, Pharmacy, and Operations to ensure engineering designs and systems meet applicable cGMP, FDA, Board of Pharmacy, and USP requirements, including USP , , and .

Translate regulatory and quality-system requirements into practical, scalable engineering standards and operating systems.

Build inspection readiness into facility, equipment, maintenance, utility, and change-control processes.

Promote a strong quality mindset while balancing compliance, speed, operational performance, and business growth.

Operational Excellence & Reliability Improve throughput, accuracy, reliability, capacity, and cost through system design, automation, engineering improvements, and data-driven decision-making.

Develop enterprise approaches to preventive and predictive maintenance, asset lifecycle management, spare-parts strategy, and equipment reliability.

Use Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement methods as supporting tools rather than the sole focus of the engineering function.

Identify and close critical gaps across systems, workflows, infrastructure, and performance visibility.

Leadership & Team Development Build and lead a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering and facilities organization across a multi-site network.

Develop leaders, establish clear accountability, and strengthen technical capabilities across regulated environments.

Create organizational structure, succession plans, operating rhythms, and decision-making mechanisms that support rapid growth.

Serve as a key thought partner to senior leaders across Operations, Quality, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Technology, Facilities, and Finance.

Lead through ambiguity and change while maintaining pace, alignment, and disciplined execution.

What You Bring 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in facilities engineering, manufacturing engineering, technical services, operations engineering, or a related discipline.

Proven experience building and scaling engineering organizations and leading through senior technical and people leaders across multiple sites.

Strong facilities and infrastructure experience, including cleanrooms or similarly controlled environments, HVAC, electrical systems, utilities, equipment installation, and facility expansion.

Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or comparable multidisciplinary technical experience; ability to credibly lead and challenge specialists across these disciplines.

Demonstrated ownership of large-scale capital programs, including facility builds, automation, equipment, and infrastructure investments.

Foundational knowledge of GMP, USP, quality systems, validation, change control, and inspection-ready operations sufficient to partner effectively with Quality and regulated operations teams.

Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, biotechnology, 503A/503B compounding, semiconductors, aerospace, automotive, electronics, or another high-precision and highly controlled manufacturing environment.

Experience overseeing external engineering firms, contractors, architects, and equipment vendors in complex technical projects.

Track record of improving reliability, throughput, quality, capacity, and cost through engineering and system-level improvements.

Strong executive communication, cross-functional influence, and ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field required; advanced degree preferred.

Preferred Experience Direct experience with sterile manufacturing, aseptic processing, pharmacy compounding, 503A/503B operations, or USP , , and .

Experience designing, commissioning, qualifying, or operating cleanrooms and regulated facility systems.

Experience with automation, controls, robotics, and high-throughput manufacturing or fulfillment systems.

Lean Six Sigma or related continuous-improvement certification.
